Basic supply list:
- Paper: Watercolor block, 140 lb. cold press 100% cotton, 9”x12”. Two brands I recommend are Legion Stonehenge, and New York Central (They have a medium level price point). Of course, you can use any brand that you choose, as long as those basic criteria are met
- Brushes: Short handled brushes- a 1 inch flat brush, no. 10 round, and no. 6 round. One brand I like is Beste. There are many brands to choose from, synthetic as well as natural hair. Choose brushes that are specific to watercolor.
- Paint: Turner brand 15 ml tube watercolor paints. Pyrrole Red, Phthalo Blue(Red Shade), Permanent Yellow, Hooker’s Green, Burnt Sienna, and Dioxazine Violet.
- Paint Palette: Something simple that has at least 7 wells for color, and a flat space for mixing
- Graphite paper
- Kneaded eraser
Other Accessories:
- Roll of paper towels
- tissues
- Pencil
- Water jar
- Palette knife (if already own), or a butter knife
